Test Results
How and when to obtain test results from the surgery
Test Results Request
You can check your test results on the NHS app
Before contacting the surgery, look in the test results section of your app. If you can’t see them, it might be because the results haven’t been sent to us yet.
Please don’t assume your results are normal just because we haven’t contacted you. We will get in touch if there’s a significant problem. However, it’s a good idea to check your results with us, as the GP might have advice or suggestions even if there’s no major issue.
Here’s how long it usually takes to get test results:
- Blood Tests: About 5 working days, unless we tell you differently
- X-Ray: About 8 weeks
- Urine Test: About 5 working days
- Smear Test: About 8 weeks
For tests like biopsies done by a hospital doctor, ask the hospital how they will give you the results. For all tests that have been arranged by the hospital/a speciality, please contact them for the results.
